Abstract | The authors observed the phenomenon of deviant behavior through the prism of specific features of adolescence, a period when basic determinants of behavior deviations manifest themselves. The paper reported the results of the pilot study on deviant behaviors of teenagers from nuclear and single-parent families. The authors also analyzed adolescents’ intolerant attitudes depending on the degree to their being problematic. A contemporary educational environment often becomes a risk zone of such behaviors, especially if teenagers come from families with minimal socio-cultural influences. The authors also scrutinized the challenges of modern education associated with an insufficient insight into the reasons for teenagers’ aggressiveness and inadequate skills in designing complex programs of correction and prevention for dealing with troubled adolescents at school. Besides, the paper described major reasons for deviant behavior in today’s teenagers and highlighted key directions of interventions and preventive activities in line with the specifics of an educational setting. One more issue of concern under consideration was bullying in the collective of adolescents. Finally, the authors formulated recommendations for pedagogical staff aimed at creating a favorable psycho-pedagogical climate in an educational establishment, a balanced shaping of teenagers’ development, their psychological wellbeing and security. They also emphasized that such basic psychological principles as being scientific, comprehensive, and systemic should guide intervention and education activities. |
