Abstract |
Moral attitudes of a cadet’s personality are the very foundation on which a ready capacity to operate in any circumstances and moral and psychological resilience depend. Insights into the moral attitudes of the trainee’s personality will contribute to designing adequate psychological and pedagogical methods of their formation. Among the research methods available, we chose a questionnaire, quantitative and qualitative methods of data processing. The authors revealed characteristics of moral attitudes in first-year cadets and these key factors: Attitudes to the motherland and the state; the Military’s honor and Moral beliefs; Emotional attitudes; Attitudes towards the Self; Attitudes Characterizing Love of Freedom; Collectivism and Esprit de corps. The findings showed that most first-year trainees are patriotic, devoted to their native land, knowingly assume and follow moral responsibilities concerning their duty, and faithful to them. At the same time, in increasingly complex situations of the trainees’ duty, they can exhibit aggression, indiscipline, impulsiveness, and cruelty. Based on the data, the authors indicated the following types of moral attitudes: the moral – activity-oriented, the highly moral collectivist, the intellectual-activity-oriented, and the unselfish-amicablyindustrious types. The authors also disclosed the content and characteristics of these types, which allowed for establishing prospects for socio-pedagogical support. |
