Xenophobia among youth is a variety of social pathology, a dangerous form of personality deformation that acts as a destructive force in a community. It is necessary to engage young people prone to xenophobia in sustained preventive work. The study aimed to theoretically substantiate the directions of xenophobia preventive activities among youth. Domestic theories on personality as a systemic formation and its systemic determination laid the theoretical and methodological groundwork of the study. The findings showed that xenophobia is a result of a group of factors’ impact: socio-political, economic, psychological, cultural, anthropological ones. A socio-cultural milieu and personal traits act as the determinants of xenophobia. Xenophobic attitudes and stereotypes can be shaped both spontaneously and purposefully. The author singled out the following xenophobia types: bullying, ethnic-racial, religious, xenophobia against social groups and individuals with differences in certain physical, material, cultural, and other features. Preventive measures presents a complex of activities aimed at eliminating causes of xenophobia emergence and spread. The paper described a system of preventing measures including general preventing events, work with risk groups, re-socialization of marginal groups, and a proliferation of the base of subjects for prevention. The author also highlighted a special role given to training specialists for educational establishments.
